Founded in 2017 in Chile, the company developed a dedicated hydrometallurgical process for recycling lithium-ion batteries. Is the first plant in Latin America to successfully recycle lithium-ion batteries through ecologically sustainable processes. Today, the company is the only authorized lithium-ion battery recycler in Chile, holding both environmental resolution (RCA) and single-window approval, and has processed more than 80 tonnes of batteries to date. Their vision is to become the leading recycler of all lithium-ion battery chemistries in the region, while continuing to apply their hydrometallurgical know-how to recover value from other hazardous industrial residues. Their process takes spent batteries — from EVs, BESS, mobile phones and consumer electronics — through disassembly, milling, leaching, filtering and chemical extraction, using ecologically sustainable methods rather than conventional smelting. At present they process LCO (lithium cobalt oxide) chemistries, recovering cobalt sulfate — sold to AMSA and Codelco Teniente — as well as copper, aluminum and graphite. They are in active discussions with Codelco and Anglo American for the sale of recovered copper. Expanding into LFP and NMC chemistries is a key next step, and is where they most value dialogue with experienced European operators. Technical Specification or Expertise Sought: As they work to expand their capacity and broaden the range of battery chemistries they can process, they are actively exploring collaboration with European recycling plants and technology providers. Specifically, they are interested in: - Technology and knowledge exchange with operators experienced in processing LFP and NMC battery chemistries, complementing our current LCO capability. - Benchmarking visits and technical dialogue to compare hydrometallurgical process design, recovery rates and environmental performance. - Potential offtake or trading relationships for recovered materials, including black mass and refined metals, between our operation and European refiners. - Strategic or financial partnerships to help fund the scale-up of our processing capacity — including a planned upgrade to a facility capable of processing approximately 600 kg/hour. - Joint ventures, licensing arrangements, or other structured collaboration models suited to each partner's interests.
