IMSP Republican Clinical Hospital “Timofei Moșneaga” is Moldova’s national republican clinical hospital, operating under the Ministry of Health. The hospital provides tertiary-level care across 30+ specialties to approximately 42,000 inpatients and 180,000 outpatient visits annually, drawing patients from all regions of the country. In the context of HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-STAYHLTH-01, the hospital proposes to contribute as a clinical research and focus group site within a multidisciplinary European consortium addressing disability, rehabilitation and independent living through the life course. Hospital's main clinical expertise lies in musculoskeletal disabilities associated with degenerative and inflammatory rheumatic diseases, conditions that significantly affect functional independence, quality of life and social participation. The hospital has access to a well-established institutional clinical database and routinely follows a large population of patients with chronic rheumatic diseases, providing an excellent setting for patient recruitment, longitudinal follow-up and evaluation of interventions aimed at improving functional outcomes and independent living. IMSP Republican Clinical Hospital “Timofei Moșneaga” can contribute to: recruitment of patients with chronic musculoskeletal disabilities; clinical assessment of pain, disability and functional status; collection of real-world clinical data and patient-reported outcomes; implementation and evaluation of person-centred interventions; dissemination of evidence-based practices in rehabilitation and chronic disease management. A particular strength of the hosipital is its capacity to organize and facilitate structured focus groups and co-creation activities involving persons with disabilities, rheumatologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers and patient representatives. These activities will support the development of person-centred, community-based solutions aligned with the objectives of the call. Potential research activities include identifying barriers to independent living, assessing unmet rehabilitation and psychosocial needs, exploring chronic pain self-management strategies, evaluating experiences with community-based care, and co-designing integrated models of care that promote autonomy and participation in society. This directly addresses the call’s focus on person-centred, multidisciplinary approaches to disability and chronic pain patients to an independent living. The focus group methodology proposed by the hospital constitutes an innovative SSH-clinical hybrid contribution. By engaging patients, carers, and multidisciplinary clinicians simultaneously, the hospital can generate qualitative and mixed-methods data on unmet rehabilitation needs, barriers to community living, and the perceived effectiveness of person-centred care models - data types explicitly required by the call but rarely available from Eastern European tertiary hospital settings. As a Horizon Europe Associated Country, Moldova participates with full EU funding eligibility on equal terms with Member State partners. Technical Specification or Expertise Sought: IMSP Republican Clinical Hospital “Timofei Moșneaga” is seeking a consortium coordinator and complementary partners for HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-STAYHLTH-01, focused on addressing disabilities through the life course to support independent living and inclusion, with a specific contribution in musculoskeletal and rheumatological disability rehabilitation and chronic pain management. IMSP Republican Clinical Hospital “Timofei Moșneaga” can contribute: (1) clinical patient cohorts with degenerative and inflammatory musculoskeletal diseases; (2) structured multidisciplinary focus groups (3) qualitative and mixed-methods research 4) institutional rehabilitation pathway data for community transition modelling; (5) policy context data from a country. Expected role of a partner: IMSP Republican Clinical Hospital “Timofei Moșneaga” is looking for cooperation: Consortium coordinator: academic institution, university hospital or research centre with proven Horizon Europe RIA coordination experience and expertise in disability research, rehabilitation science or rheumatology. A disability representative organisation (DPO) as formal consortium partner. SSH partner with expertise in disability sociology, qualitative methods, or ethics of care. Additional clinical partners from EU/associated countries (rehabilitation centres, rheumatology or orthopaedic units). Optional SME partner in assistive technology or digital rehabilitation tools. The consortium structure, work package distribution, and partner roles will be defined jointly to cover a minimum of three of the six STAYHLTH-01 research areas and to fulfil the mandatory SSH and disability-organisation participation requirements. The consortium structure, scientific strategy, and work package distribution will be developed jointly with selected partners to ensure optimal scientific impact and feasibility.
